Then in another scene, she's an oak tree. And in the Haunted Forest, she has Spanish Moss. So, you know, a full tree acting range! As my dad said, "Epiphytes are hard to pull off."
But Laura is hilarious. She's complaining that none of the other trees stay in character. She's like, "We're supposed to be mad! And all the other trees are turning their heads to watch Dorothy. We don't care about those humans!"
It is a fun show. I remarked on it last year, but there's a load of talent in that group of kids. The little Dorothy is the complete package. And for some parts, Toto is a real dog, who totally steals the scene.
Never work with animals, people.

Lovely post, great pic. Whenever you doubt that you have nothing to say, just think of us yearning for these well-written tidbits about your daily life, so different, at least from mine. It's also so lovely, so heartwarming, so see a functional family in which the kids are encouraged to bloom and become happy productive self-aware members of society. Staying in character cannot be underestimated. It's all that's required of any of us, actually, but so few ever manage it.
I love that Laura is having such a great time in drama --my daughter, also in MS, has a lousy drama teacher (she's kind of a bully) and it has really taken the fun out of drama.
This post reminded me of how I remember school theatre as being so much fun --the teachers, the parents, the clean-up, the fun -- & it makes me wonder why, then, is ballet theatre such a nightmare? Is it because everyone is so flipping hungry? I dunno.
Ha! Maybe so! Because I will say, yesterday, when they put on three shows, they fed the kids four meals. LOL
