The Dread Words

"Mom, my ear hurts."

Uh oh.

Hank started complaining of an earache earlier tonight and now he is still wide awake. I'm using all my remedies. Laptop is about to be used to play netflix bedside, in hopes of keeping him distracted and keeping his head flat so the auralgan will stay in.

I asked him how he feels and he said, "Like a pile of dust."

This concludes our nightly blogging.

Darn. I'm sorry to hear it. My kids had earaches occasionally when they were really young -- I took them to an osteopath, and both have never been on antibiotics. I always keep a small bottle of garlic oil/mullein on hand for when they have them now. I put a dropper or so in the ear and stop it with cotton -- works every time. I get the stuff at Whole Foods --

I sure hope Hank feels better soon.

Oh bless him--"like dust"! Poor buddy. Nate had an ear infection this past wknd...pretty miserable. And he hates the feeling of the ear drops going in! Hope Hank can sleep soon... Xo

"Like a pile of dust". Where does he get that imagery?

Dad, I don't know! He's funny. I think he was reaching for the most abject thing he could imagine.

He slept okay but he is feverish and fretful this morning. We are heading to the doc in a little while.

I don't know where he gets half the things he says!
