Charmer

On Friday night we were on our way up to the mountain house for the long weekend, and I turned to Matt and said, "Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, you know." This seemed like new and surprising information to him.

So I asked, "Did you remember to pack my present?"

And he said, "Sweetie, I'm always packing your present."

Then he whooped and high-fived himself. He's such a hopeless romantic.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Anybody get anything sweet? Flowers, candy, other tokens of affection?

And you reminded him of the "good things coming in small packages" adage? That'll put him in his place. Men.

That's pretty awesome. My husband tried to high five yours through the computer. :)

That is hilarious! I wonder how long he was waiting for an opportunity to use that line. Men, indeed!

LOL! My husband didn't give me anything. He's been sick, and so I forgave him. This year.

lol! That is totally a line that Paul would use.

He unexpectedly brought me a paperback and some chocolates. I say "unexpectedly" because we hardly ever acknowledge Valentine's Day.

I hate to agree with the man but that comment did deserve a high five. No V Day around here... we don't celebrate (by choice).

Ha! That is hilarious.

That is so something that JR would say. LOL

No romantic gestures at our place but JR was very patience with me when I bought 24 new/used (new for me) cookbooks. Nothing says love more than a guy standing at the end of the cookbook tables rolling his eyes.

That was a fast and funny reply. I could see my husband saying that but only if we were alone. The boys hear everything. What, was my county the only one in the USA that did not have Monday off????

Excellent reply. Love a guy with a great sense of humor (although gifts are nice, too).

My husband ran out & picked up tacos for dinner on Valentine's Day. Now *that's* romance.

Funny, funny hubby!

Too funny. And I'm betting he said it in front of the kids? On my V-day we happened past a Planned Parenthood. Hubs gets a crocodile grin on his face and says "Hey look. Remember when you made me go there, all those years ago?" Okay, so I was prudish, a conservative dater. But good grief! With Mr M in the back seat! Could we be a little more discret?

Men. Can't live with 'em, can't live with 'em.

LOL, Dental Maven! I wish you'd been in the car with me.

And yes, the kids were in the back of the car, but they were zoning out watching Lilo and Stitch. I find that the in-car DVD player enables more interesting adult banter.

Oh, nice.

I think it's time for payback. Let him work with Hank on poopin' in the potty. I mean, he is a big boy, right? And, um...Matt DOES poop in the potty, right? Or is that a delicate subject? :-)

Seriously, let daddy doodoo it!
