Chemotherapy, Second Verse

Hey dudes, just checking in. I'm having my second chemo infusion today--two more hours to go. I have a lazyboy and a warm blanket, several beverages, and I just dispatched Matt to bring lunch. I also have a buttload of magazines.

I'm the youngest person in here by a lot, but I know that isn't always true.

Have I told you they have free hats here? People knit them and put them in baskets and you can take whatever you want. FREE ACCESSORIES. So let's put that in the plus column.

Also in the plus column: some Coconut Lip Butter my cousin gave me from the Body Shop. I'm supple, people.

More later, including a wigsplosion.

Hope the nausea stays away again this round. And you know I'm dying to see the wig.

LOVE the warm blankets! And yeah, I was always the youngest one, too...but one day I did see a high school friend who was going through chemo for MS. The docs were trying to suppress her immune system...ON PURPOSE. Who knew? :)

50% done with chemo -- huzzah! BTW, I sat with a friend for one of her chemo sessions a few months ago -- she never had a minute of nausea during or after any of her sessions. Those anti-nausea drugs really work! She is now done, healthy, and in the hair-growing-back stage. You'll be there soon! xo

I'm thinking of you every day. This cancer "stuff" really "stinks" doesn't it!(cleaned up for your blog audience)
You hang in there girl! Reports are you're doing great and your wig is super cute.

Just so you know, I basically haven't moved since 8 this morning (except to make one tuna melt...fine, TWO) because I've been poring over your archives with rapt attention.

Now I have to go pick up my daughter from school sans makeup. In southern California. You only have yourself to blame.

Only YOU could spin chemo into sounding like a spa day...

I hope your beverages contained that wonderful soft hospital ice. I have an obsession/addiction.

Can't wait to see your wig!

You were on my mind today as I prayed that this round of chemo is as non-yucky as the last one. Hope you are feeling well. I can't wait to see how cute you are with the new wig. Hugs.

Just caught up, you look adorable with the short hair and as for the wig, I really think you should invest in the "Pink Brittney" just for the hell of it. Hope your treatment went well and you are feeling okay! xoxoxo!

I am a cancer survivor (still don't like the sound of the word, survivor) of plus 10 years. It's funny, I never want to say the 'exact number of years' as I fear it will jinx my health.

I was around 37 yrs old when I went through my chemo. and radiation treatments. And, I was one of the youngest in the room as well.

My daughter was 2 years old when I went through the process.

I feel your thoughts, your concerns, the highs, the lows. It is tough.

You're courageous. You may or may not feel this way...but you are.

Drink, drink, drink lots of water your during treatment times! It helped me rid the nausea.

Thinking of you.

Free hats are a great perk. Since I'm reading backwards, I've already seen the wigsplosion and I approve of said venture. You rock..
