I took these last weekend in North Carolina, while Hank and his cousin Luke played in the old tractor up the road.

And I know lately my blog tends to be one big "Okay I just had chemotherapy and I feel fine but tired and now someone is driving me to the mountain house." And that is in fact what's about to happen. Matt's taking me up there tonight to meet up with the kids and also with the inimitable brother Dave and Kate.

My prescription for those undergoing cancer treatment is lots of social time, if it's a social situation of your choosing.

What else did I do today?

1. Woke up too early, felt a slight hint of queasiness, which may have been only the fear that I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. Alligator, crocodile, whatever--Ativan solves that problem.

2. Said goodbye to my bud Erika. Bravely withheld tears.

3. Had a smoothie. Bladderwrack!

4. Sat on my couch. Watched Anthony Bourdain in Iceland.

5. Drooped lower on my couch.

6. Snoozed fitfully.

7. Rallied to compose this post.

So as you can see it's been a full day already. I can't believe it's the weekend again, but I hope y'all have a nice one. I will be like ten times more interesting next week, promise.

Pretty pictures! You are becoming like mom with all your wildflower shots!

Y'all have fun...I know you're all gathering there and enjoying yourselves just to spite me. Don't you think you're being a bit selfish?

ah mountain laurel, those sticky little pink blooms, brings back memories as I haven't seen one in years.
You are doing great girl! Enjoy your time away up there where I'm sure it's a bit cooler. H&H here where I am at Lake Oconee. It's a working weekend for us, but we did get to go on an evening boat cruise tonight and actually see stars, so pretty.

I like your prescription! Being with family and friends of your choosing is always good for what ails you.

You are always interesting. And great photos! I hope you have a good weekend Becky.

Those flowers sure are purty. But not as purty as that Hank. You know, you do have the ability to make a day of lazing around on the sofa sound exciting and eventful.

Hey, by the way, I think it's time for another pie chart. I've been thinking about your pie charts.

Becky, I never knew ye were a botanist!

Breathe in that mountain air. Mmm. Can I crash the party?

We were in Highlands last summer and I remember that wonderful sound of the leaves -- almost like the sound of the surf. This year it's the beach in Florida. We're hoping it won't be our last. Sigh.

Be as interesting as you like, hon. We'll find you fascinating regardless. I think "social situation of your choosing" is a downright fantastic prescript for any physical or mental ailment.

The flowers are pretty, but look at our dudes!

How did I miss that Anthony Bourdain? Cause I was almost as active as that this weekend.

This is the most food tv I've watched in years.

The flowers are super pert. Sounds like perfect activities (and also lack thereof) to me.

thinking of you... you need anything? Something pretty, something yummy, something inspiring... or just a hug? Anything at all? Say the word.
Good thoughts are coming your way!
