How I Spend One Hundred Percent of My Time

Or that's what it feels like. You?

That is hilarious! For me right now (as its summer here and we're potty training), it's: putting sunscreen on the kids, following Nate to his secret #2 spots, hiding from the kids, and eating popsicles.

I think this should be a new feature on Suburban Matron: "Pie Chart Thursdays"! Love it.

Definitely, esp. on the catalogs. I mentioned to my parents that I was going to go on that site that helps you stop getting so many catalogs, and they were all "Noooooooo!" This is because they sell uniforms to postal workers and right now they feel the catalogs are all that's keeping them in business.

lol! X is still in diapers so the major wedge on mine would be 'wiping someone else's bottom'. But other than that - pretty close.

Great post. My biggest slice would be throwing the ball for the dog.

Funny! The largest percentage of my time is definitely spent refereeing my kids. It's like 90%, no lie. Especially keeping the baby from terrorizing her older brother... she's brutal.

(I like Amy's idea of Pie Chart Thursdays!)

A big chunk of mine would be cooking and meal prep. Your mention of taking kids to dentist reminded me that I meant to write more about your ortho visit and I never did! My comment about how I was in the benefits arena for 20 years was only to preface that I am a knowledge freak about FSAs and health plans. So to greatly reduce my long response that I was going to send......on flex accts: they are the most awesome tax saving tool around--can't believe you have to file using paper and Humana IS the worst--their reps know nothing...on the other hand I bet the ortho office gave you a lousy looking receipt. HMO dentists/orthos have agreed to charge an exact certain price for an exact certain service so he cannot charge an inflated amount for the palate item. I bet he billed his Humana contracted amount and pocketed your extra $500to ensure you will come back. Ask Humana to look up what dentist sent to them. Other thought: your husband's employer may one day switch to a new dental provider who may not know or care that anyone in family met life max.

Great stuff here, Becky! But where was blogging in your pie? For me, it's 60 percent thinking about what I need to do, 38 percent planning how to do what I need to do and 2 percent actually doing what I need to. With bonus time for the blogopshere.

Yaay. I love being thought-provoked. At the moment, my pie chart would be unsettling to any rational mom with a normal kid. Oh, I'd say 60% of it is spent talking to Mr. M's teacher . . . in conferences, emails, phone calls. He said the word "sex" today and Ms. Victorianna hyper-ventilated.

Catalogs would definitely be #2, followed by carpool, followed by . . and so on and so on.

So what's going on with the big dentist segment? Hope no novacaine(sp?) is involved. Yikes.

Oh, nice pie chart. I'd like to say I spend some of my time eating pie but I don't.
Mine is spent at the ENT with one or both of my kids, then driving them to sleep, then staying very very quiet so I don't wake them up. I'm barely even here.

I love this. In fact, I'm going to borrow this idea for a future post. Thanks! :)

HILARIOUS. Cleaning the kitchen: 76%. 12% replacing items in proper location, 6% searching for items unfindable due to not being in proper location, 3% shutting exterior doors, 3% turning off lights.

Maven alert: catalogchoice.org has worked wonders for me, both personally and as executor of the estate of the Catalog Queen, my lovely departed aunt.
