Praisallujah

Congratulations are in order, friends! In this house, on this day, Hank went poop in the potty. We are beaming with pride. I think what made the difference is that we are all home on a weekend for the first time in many weeks, and Matt and I were both talking about the whole issue to him. And Laura took it upon herself to make him a sticker chart. She made a line for number one too, so he could experience some early success. (I don't know where she gets it, but she has some pedagogical genius.) After a few false tries, he came into the house and asked for me to leave him alone in the bathroom, and then the deed was done. We hugged him and high-fived him and gave him a skittle, and then an airplane wrote his name in the sky, and I don't think that was too much, do you?

Yesterday I was laughing, because he asked me if he could take a drink into the bathroom to sit on the potty with, and I thought that might relax him and get him to linger. So I said, "Sure you can." He said, "Okay Mom, I want a popsicle and some hot chocolate."

I don't know if I would be able to manage those two things on the toilet, and I don't even think a popsicle is really a drink.

Now, Hank is your husband? I'm really hoping your answer is no.

I know we've already discussed this, but we've both got Hanks. Both of the now poop where they're supposed to.

Also? I so dig your avatar. I've always though it looks like you're about to dish some delicious gossip.

A popsicle and some hot chocolate, well, at least things will never be boring with him!

Way to go, Hank!

Good on him! That's great news. Hilarious about the popsicle/hot chocolate.

Also, go Laura! She is a sweet big sister.

This is fireworsks-worthy. I'd say a trip to Disneyland is in order. Yay for you all!

Oh, and the hot chocolate? Please make sure there is plenty of whipped cream. And you can't have hot chocolate in the bathroom unless you also have cookies. And a reading from a storybook. And...

Now that's what I call teamwork on a Saturday. With the ever so changing weather around here, Hank has it right by being prepared with both a popsicle and a hot chocolate.
P.S. I'm off to look up the word you used to describe L.

Congratulations to everyone! And popsicle and hot chocolate? That's a weird combo kiddo.

Oh. So you're NOT supposed to eat eight popsicles a day? I thought that was the doctor recommendation.

Go Hank!

Hurray!

Emmy's been a little constipated, and so when she does poop in her diaper, Ed sings the "Poop of Joy" song. Sounds like you get to sing the poop of joy song at your house, too!

Yes, we're a little demented over here.

Seriously? A fleet of ships should be christened in Hank's honor. Way to go!

Holy hell, that's a milestone worth sky writing for. Congrats! I'll have a hot chocolate in his honor.

Good for Hank! I hope he keeps it up...our boy teased us with an early performance and then the real work began.

(I agree with the Bee...great avatar. You look like you're leaning over a cup of coffee about to say something incredibly compelling!)

Yay for Hank!!! For some kids this is a huge milestone - it was for Abbott (for Cal, a non-event).
